Unlock doors by 'hotwire'

Hi,

My single key for my civic is only able to open the trunk the of the car. The key does not work in either door. For the past month, I have had to crawl through the trunk to unlock the doors as my key fob is also busted.

It is possible to wire up a way to unlock the doors from the trunk? I do not want to put any money into this car as it is dying anyway. I am studying electrical engineering so I am confident I could install some kind of switch to open the doors from the trunk.

Regards,
Mark

The fob is dead, the circuitry doesn't power up.

I also had to break off the sheer bolts to unlock the steering wheel so the ignition may not accept a new fob as the key is bypassed, I start the car by turning the white piece with a screwdriver while holding the key next to the immobilizer. I noticed the cruise control doesn't work anymore after doing this.

Just pull the wafers out of the door locks. You'll be able to unlock them with a screwdriver (or your key) but only you will know that. You can do the same with the ignition that way you can use it normally again.

Ok I understand what you mean but how do I do this? Google search didn't reveal anything relevant.

Ericthecarguy has a video where he rekeys some honda keys. It's not a civic but the lock and the key are the same as the civic
