Strange Immobilizer Situation

Hi

2001 Civic LX Automatic, 1 Key. I have a remote starter.
I usually start the car with the remote starter and don't have any issues.
Today I noticed that if i start the car with the key - the green immobilizer (key) keeps flashing on the dashboard.
The car does not die or have issues starting like other posts mention. The battery is 2-3 years old and cranks well.
It seems to do this intermittently as I tried later, and it did not blink, and tried just now, and did blink..
In all scenarios, the car remained running and did not shut off..

Any ideas? I'd hate to have to bring it to the dealer to reprogram - is that my only option?
Thanks,

Re: Strange Immobilizer Situation

Sounds like the immobilized system has been bypassed, first guess would be by whoever installed the remote starter.

Lucky for you, else it would not be running while that green light is flashing..

Re: Strange Immobilizer Situation

Any recommendations?
As I'm planning on getting it certified I'm worried it'll come up.

Re: Strange Immobilizer Situation

first check if they are going to check the immobilizer. If not, no worries.
