loud creeking noise while turning the wheel

Well here is the prob. Ever since I got my 19s and lowered my TeinSS coils all the way in the front I been getting a pretty loud creeking noise when I turn my wheel at a really really slow speed or at a dead stock. When I'm driving like 5+ MPH and turn the noise is not there.

Anyway, I had 17s before and I was lowered about 2 inches on TeinSS and never heard this noise before.

I did not get an alignment or a camber kit after lowering the Teins all the way but I am this week.

This noise is very noticible..... at a stop as I turn the wheel it goes "creeeeeeeeeeeeeeek creeek creeeeek"

What do you guys think it could be?

BTW, I have an 01 civic so I dont need the upper mounts and those other piece 02+ civic owners need for TeinSS.

Its probably the springs rubbing up against the top strut mount.

Yeah....I had that problem.....well first my car always made this clunking noise, come to find out my strut assembly was in backwards. But, I had a really loud creeking sounds too! And it only occured if I turned my wheel going very slowly or if I was stopped. Well my problem was brakes. That loud sound is the indicator (brake warning device). I put on new Powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS pads and the creeking sound magically disappeared...and I stop good too.

i have the same problem.... but if you notice that the noise happens when you turn left, the car pulls left and right for right...... how can that be brakes? its gotta be the spring rubbing, getting friction, then popping back. I keep telling myself i'm going to call tein and ask... i am going to call now and see what it really is.

***EDIT*** They asked me for my lot number and what color my height adjusters were. my adjusters are silver - and given that information, they determined that i needed a bearing or some part that was missing. The part number i need is:

USS01-H2735 ~ $32

They didn't say where it installs in relation to the spring and the adjusters, but ill call back when i get the part in.

I had that same problem when I got hayame. You need to make sure everything is tighten down (the nuts holding the springs) and check for loosen parts. Or maybe it needs some time to settle down.

COIL BIND... did you get that part yet? Its because your bearings arent working properly so whats happening is your springs are trying to turn as well. Well the springs keep a "memory" of the turn thus thats why it leans left/right after a turn

Re: loud creeking noise while turning the wheel

My car was making that noise and it was the lower control am bushings that were badly cracked. They are $5 per and need a press to replace them in the control arm. You may want to do the ball joints at the same time as my were also pretty worn out as well.
