threating to tow cars!!!
ok i work in a little shopping center where the idiot landlord has decided that we can't park in certain rows...of course its the rows i park in. This would be no big deal but they are expecting us to park in the area's were eveything gets stolen, shopping carts are everywhere just ready to bang into my door, and a buch of stupid little thugs are around...not a place for my new car! I know that if they really want to tow it they will find away but is there anything i can do to slow them down? .....i know i should use the e-brake, turn the wheels....but should i back in or park straight? is it harder to pick up the front or back on our cars??? any ideas would be great...thanks!
Slam your car down. Don't leave it in gear. use the ebrake, turn the wheels. Get a bodykit to make it even harder to tow, maybe a huge exhaust tip. but you can't make it 100% tow proof, just a bitch to tow... lol and i don't think you really want to spend $$$ but it would make it a lot harder.
I would think that since he is a landlord, yeah he does have the right to tow any car but if you think about it, what if you told every single employee to park in that particular secion right. Now tell him that if he tows all the employees cars then how is his little shopping center going to make any money if it doesn't have any employees to run it to make him money??? If the employees can't get to work then they won't work right???? I'm very tired right now but it's an idea...

if i were you i'd back it in. it's not worth making it tough for the tow truck driver by driving in front first.
i remember some cars that were towed from the lot where i used to work...not a pretty sight seeing locked up wheels on a fwd car being dragged out of a stall just so they can unhook and rehook up front so they can tow you away on your rolling wheels.

The thing is that if they really want to get you out of there they will just call a flat bed tow truck and put you on the back and then nothing is being draged except when they put it on and off, I have seen it done before. Just be careful, man, I dont wanna see then hurt your car in anyway at all.

<< get a handicapped tag. can't make you move then
>>If there are no signs posted, ie: Customer Parking Only...then tell him to put some up and you'll be more than happy to oblige.

He doesn't have the authority to tell you whether or not you can park in a specific place. That decision is up to your employer. The employer pays the rent, which includes the use of what is called a "common area" for customers AND employees. Unless, of couse, the lease states otherwise. I'd ask your employer for a copy of the lease agreement, and then read the "Rules of Common Area" section. Just so you know, the lease agreement is usually in the vicinity of 700-800 pages, and is written in "lawyer" english.
My suggestion, pull in forward and hook up a monster chain to your two front tow hooks and wrap it around a lamp post. Then, put your car in 1st gear, and pull the e-brake. If anything happens to your car, sue the towing company and the landlord for vandalizim (sp?). I think that should take care of your problem for a little while.

I have a similar type of problem at my pad. We have "Guest Parking" and permit parking areas. well unfortunetly the damn builders didn't put enough parking spaces in this damned complex and I get towed for parking in a Guest Parking spot more then 72 hours...I get a notice on the 3rd day and generally wait 8 days before parking up here again. In that 8 days I'm subject to break ins and vandalism down on the street which used to be accessable via running up and down a hil...but the butt heads put up a 7 foot fence that I now jump over. So if someone is messing with my car it'll take me that extra minute to get to my car....what are people thinking when they do things?
