Rep Power: 0 Honda Civic 2005 manual transmission front right engine mount
Hello,
I have a Honda Civic 2005 manual transmission. Some months back I got the front right stock mount replaced because it had broken. Even when the stock mount had broken I only felt slight vibration in the steering wheel, but since the mount was cracked I went for replacement. Upon replacement, initially the car felt great and vibration went away. But after a month or so, I started feeling grinding noise when I used to break in low gear or when going downhill and engine breaking were being used. This started to increase as I drove more and the grinding sound I used to hear in 1st and 2nd, started appearing in 3rd as well. Important point to note was that as soon as I pressed the clutch the sound went away even in low gears. Since, the problem was persisting I went to my mechanic and noticed that right side of engine (where new mount) was slightly lifted. Since, the most recent change was of mount I thought mount was problematic, hence got it replaced again. Again, the car felt great but now again after month or so I am facing similar issue?
My question are:
- is the issue purely related to mount and I need to find a good quality mount?
- could this be some other issue and maybe that is destroying or effecting the mount?
- is it safe to drive car in this condition or should get it fixed ASAP?
thank you for your patience and looking to hear some suggestions ‘.
