Question Hard to Shift out of 3rd gear

Hey guys,
I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX 1.7 vtec manual transmission that i had the clutch and input shaft bearing replaced on recently. All was great until i tried shifting "out" of 3rd gear... to go into 4th. I thought it was stuck, but it just took a firm pull to get it out of gear to, then, go into 4th. It goes into 3rd fine, but coming out of 3rd gear is the issue. Do you know what could have caused this? Is it the shift linkage?

Possibly 3rd gear synchro issue? Has anyone recently checked (level) or changed manual transmission fluid?

When the input shaft bearing was replaced, I had him put new Honda manual Transmission fluid in it. I "personally" have not checked it. Is there a dipstick to check it?

Re: Hard to Shift out of 3rd gear

ezone, could you explain a little more as to why that would cause it to be hard to shift out of 3rd gear? Wouldn't it be that way in multiple gears?

No dipstick. There is a drain-hole (with bolt) at the bottom and a fill-hole at the top. Fill until fluid starts to drip from the fill-hole and then reinstall fill-hole bolt.

Thanks for your responses... I'll check this tonight, and then i'll check the shifter ball. I'm just hoping it's not a transmission issue
