Leaking transmission fluid.

im havong leaking transmission fluid coming from the area where you see the bolt hole in the green color.. Its a manual transmission. It seems the fluid running down and round up at that bolt area of the whlywheel cover bolt.does anyone have that problem can let me know where exactly where ots coming from.? I changed the cv axel seals on both side of the Tranny but I'm not sure where the leak is coming from to be sure.

Re: Leaking transmission fluid.

Give it a good wipe down with some degreaser then take it for a drive so you can find out where the leak is coming from.

Re: Leaking transmission fluid.

So I have oil dripping from my oil pan drain plug and I put new washer on there and tighten it to 33fb torque and it still dripping. What could cause it to still dripping?

Re: Leaking transmission fluid.

Since the plug sits at the lowest point on the pan, it may be run down from another area; if not, look at the drain plug gasket, make sure it is an aluminum oem style gasket.

Also look for stripped threads/worn threads.

homie hit me up on PM. I have no answers other than to recheck the seals

Though this was oil pan, not transmission plug.

Re: Leaking transmission fluid.

Okay, what I deleted was I have seen multiple instances where one washer was stuck to the pan ( quick lube places love to put a smear of rtv on them) and then someone else installed a second washer on the bolt.

Double washers will seep and drip slowly.

Re: Leaking transmission fluid.

Ok. I was thinking of using the RTV on it, get a new drain plug or an oversize one and put in.
