Re: transmission codes

The P1705 is a Short in the Transmission Range Switch Circuit and is an electrical issue and not mechanical. Did you play around with this harness when you were troubleshooting your stalling issues a few days ago? You will need to check the circuit for a short, open wire, poor connection or ground or bad range switch or PCM for this code.

The P0740 is a Lock Up Control code and is not a good one to have. Basically internal fluid pressures are not shifting the trans anymore. Most likely clutch debris clogging the internal ATF filter or solenoids or orifices. Recommended ATF maintenance is a normal drain and fill of Honda DW-1 every 3rd oil change at least. What has been the ATF maintenance? Never power flush.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: transmission codes

Troubleshoot and fix the P1705 code first (the computer probably detected more than one range switch input at the same time).

After that is corrected then drive it and see if P0740 sets again.
