Overheating
Overheating
my car is overheating. first thing i see the temp gauge is rising like crazy, looking under the hood, i decided to touch radiator hoses. the upper one its blazing hot but the one with the thermostat is cold. i replaced the thermostat recently and radiator not long time ago. what else could causing that issue?. thanks

Re: Overheating
thanks for replying. i just replaced it for a new one. the other one had the head with a piece broken. but the weird thing was some gunk laying in the hose, looked like a sealer or gasket sealant and i think i put it right because it wont fit the other way though. it was all the problem for now. because now both hoses has same temps.
Re: Overheating
Ok got some updates here. Car is not overheating anymore but now has a rough idle. Did I miss to connect anything or have any leak?. It only happen when idle or at a stop light. Also after warming up the engine I feel some vibration in it (engine rocking) oh and the check engine light came on too.

Re: Overheating
just to take this out of the way - is your overflow coolant tank full?

Re: Overheating
i came from Oreillys to do code scanning. i got 4 codes:
P0505 (idle air control system)
P0303 (misfire cylinder #3)
P0300 (random misfire)
P0302 (misfire cylinder #2)
he only suggested me to replace the valve cover gasket. i don`t think is the only thing needed. i lost some power from the engine that`s why i suspect of something else.

Re: Overheating
While you know I'm a full proponent for Honda OEM, I will say, I've had good luck with AutoZone t-stats. Sensors and other electrical stuff, def stick to OEM/Denso
@betdriver01 Bleed the ever living crap out of your coolant system. If you need a how-to, here's the quick and dirty:
Also, bc you have misfires on 2/3, pull those plugs to see what they look like
@betdriver01 Bleed the ever living crap out of your coolant system. If you need a how-to, here's the quick and dirty:
- Park with the front end elevated a little (ramps, driveway, jack stands, whatever you have at your disposal. Just need to make absolutely sure the radiator cap is the highest point of the coolant system
- Start the car with the rad cap off, heater full blast, and put a radiator funnel where the cap was.
- Run that bish for forever, getting to as close to normal op temp as possible.
- Keep an eye on coolant levels, topping off as needed.
- If the bubbles stop, run it for like 5-10 more minutes. I personally reset that clock every time I saw bubbles come back.
- Not a good sign if the bubbles don't stop.
