i need some help! My car is overheating and its 30 degress OUTSIDE!
well my car has overheated twice in the last month. I filled drained and filled back up the resiver (sp) and the radiator and it did it again last night. Now this is whats new to me, my car will not ever get hot in motion and i can not make it over heat, it will only do it when im stopped and it doesnt take long once it starts to get hot. So i was thinking my thermostat maybe be sticking, so i touch the hoses and they both upper and lower have water in them when the car is running, the upper hose was hot to touch but not burning hot even though my temp gauge is reading smoking hot! The lower hose that connects to the themostat was cool to the touch. I can not find a leak anywhere but i do lose a little water but i think that it steams away when it gets hot and it will come out of the overflow. If it is a thermostat that sucks because no one carries it for my car down here in texas that i can find, and if i have to get it from honda im sure it will be expensive! I need a little help if anyone knows anything at all. I also check oil to make sure i didn't have a blown headgasket and i dont!

Is the radiator cooling fan coming on? Sounds like it not working because if your moving air is being forced though the radiator, but when you are sitting still no air is passing through the radiator. Which would cause your car to over heat in any outside tempature.

If the car is under warrenty take it to the dealer, because there are so many things involved, its hard to figure out what wrong with your car without looking at it first hand.

take it to a local shop like midas, or somewhere like that. they will inspect it for free. once you know the problem, you can find out how to fix it. and see how much it would cost to have it done, or find out how to do it yourself. i know how mad you must be...sorry bro

If you are having problems with leaks and over heating water is the thing to use, until you fix the problem, because antifreeze is to expensive and its messy and it keeps coolant from going into the storm drains.
