I am in a bit of a pickle. I have a broken stud on my oil pump where the oil pick up tube connects. There is still about 1/4" of stud exposed, so I had the idea of JB welding a nut to it and trying to remove it that way. I would really prefer not to remove the oil pump again. If that sounds like a bad idea, or of anyone has a better one, I'm all ears.
Assuming I can remove it, would a replacement stud be the same as one for the oil pan? They are both M6 and look similar, but if I need to order some kind of special stud that would be good to know. Thanks!
I don't know if jb weld will hold well enough. Make sure you get it really clean. I would use an actual welder personally.
Unfortunately I don't have access to one, so I figure the JB weld thing is worth a shot. I'll give it the full 24 to cure before trying. Do you know if a replacement stud would be the same as one for the oil pan? Thanks
