2003 CivEX OIL PUMP issue
My car was leaking and mechanic changed the seals. However, it continued leaking. Took it back, he said it was either the OIL PUMP had a crack or the "O" Ring (which would take 5 hours to get to). After spending $821.00 on the other seals, oil change, timing belt, etc; I now have to spend $68 for an oil pump. The car has about 141,000 almost all highway. Since the mechanic doesn't know, and he thinks that b/c the dealership had the pump in stock it could mean there are problems with that specific part,
???: how do I know whether if it is the pump or the O ring BEFORE putting in a new pump? This will be the first time I'd be buying an oil pump for this car.
Car is VERY well cared for since it's purchase (new). every 3,000 miles change of oil. We have had the same mechanic the whole time;other than he hasn't been the one changing the oil. Thanks in advance.

Re: 2003 CivEX OIL PUMP issue
You really need to tell us where the oil is leaking from to tell you. That or you can snap some photos of the leaking spots for a more accurate answer. What oil seals did he replace exactly? More info and we'll be able to tell you.
