If I'm looking to see if my timing belt was changed before I bought the car(like service reports) what app or online service would give me a report of maintenance work done on the car. Now I'd rather not pay for a prescription I'd just want the report for work done to that car..I'm not using it for anything else. Maybe a trial period and then quit. Like I said I just want to find out what kind of work, service or maintenance was done to the car to save myself some money by changing or not changing the timing belt.
these are some of the images on the timing belt cover. Anyone identify what they are.The one on the bottom is from the barcode scanner.

I am trying to save time and money and worry(car is 2005 Honda civic LX sedan 193,00 miles) by finding out when, if and what mileage was when the timing belt was changed. Bought the car used about 1 year ago. No maintenance or service records are in the books in the glove compartment. No stickers in the doorjams to indicate service. Just this sticker here
But it cost $500-600 or so..just trying to be sure..if there was some way to visually inspect it like you do with the other belts I could be relieved then
Not all maintenance is going to be reported to CARFAX or some other online service. I have done two timing belts on one of my vehicles and neither one would show up. Neither would all the oil changes and other maintenance.

try to find a friend that knows how to fix cars.
but then no warranties.
Don't think a friend would report the job to carfax either.
also, when doing timing belt, it is highly recommended to do headgasket on these engines.
you don't want to do same job twice.
About how much more if you have the head gasket replaced. I watched a video and a lot of the teardown for the timing belt replacement and the head gasket are about the same.
Looking at those head gasket kits shows 20 to 30 other parts besides the gasket.
I personally wouldn't bother doing the head gasket unless it's showing signs of needing it. The time required to do a timing belt pales in comparison. I'd ballpark about 2 grand to do both the timing belt and water pump.
There's no free report that I'm aware of that will give you the information you want. However, Carfax will show some activity at shops (only those who actually input it). It won't give you the maintenance done but it will give you the shop's name. You can then call and see what was done. All the one's I've done that with have been good about it. The only downside to Carfax is that very few independent shops input the work they do, so the chances that you find what you're looking for are relatively small.
I guess you have to decide whether you'd rather replace an engine or a timing belt. Not trying to be rude, but that's the reality of the situation.
