Civic not starting after replacing timing belt became loose

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this has been a thread a thousand times before, but I cannot figure out why my 2005 civic LX is not starting. I'll back up. I replaced the head gasket, timing belt, water pump, gaskets, etc. Put it everything back together and the car started/ran/drove great for a couple days. I was on my way back home on the backroads and all of a sudden my car loss power while driving (around 40 MPH), and it finally stalled. Tried to start up back up and just would crank.

Towed the car home and turns out my timing belt tensioner bolt broke, causing a loose timing belt. Yes, it was a defective bolt, as I did not overtighten.

Now I have replaced the timing belt and tensioner again. The camshaft seemed to be off by 1 tooth, which I did fix and now all timing marks (camshaft and crankshaft) all align. The timing marks are dead on. I also replaced the cam/crank sensors.

My car will not start, it only cranks now. I also did a compression test and everything looks good. I checked the fuel pump fuses and those are good. I hear the fuel pump come on and I do smell gas when it cranks. Have not replaced the relays, but I'm assuming those are good if I hear the fuel pump and smell gas.

Would my timing still be off even though all the timing marks line up? Would this issue cause no spark? This is the only item have a not checked yet.

Any ideas??? This is driving my insane, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Timing could be off, surprised you didnt bend any valves
what brand are the sensors? They need to be oem, aftermarket will not work

Bought sensors from advance auto. I’ll return them and try oem.

Try starting the engine with the gas pedal fully depressed. The cylinders might be flooded with fuel and depressing the gas pedal fully disables the fuel injectors and opens the intake butterfly (flap) fully to allow the maximum amount of air into the cylinders.
