VTEC wiring help [solved]

I have seen multiple threads on wiring a non-VTEC engine to adding a VTEC. however, I’m looking for something else, specifically wire colors.
A little background. 2003 EX Coupe, D17A2. I pulled my engine/manual trans to rebuild the trans and replace water pump, timing belt, etc. After all said and done, my oil light was on and a P1259 code lit up. I let it go after confirming I had good oil pressure. Fast forward to the day I decided to look at things. I found that the connector for the oil pressure sensor is the same as the spool for the VTEC. Problem is that the connector was broken so I had spliced my own. I stripped back the black cover and and found that I had the yellow/red wire connected to the spool and the green/yellow connected to the sensor. Dumb of me. I put the yellow/red to the sensor and the oil light finally went off. Yay! I spliced the remaining green/yellow to the spool, but I still get the P1259 code.
All I’m asking here is, is that green/yellow wire supposed to go the the spool or did I miss something. For the life me I have searched and searched but cannot find anything to answer that question.
Can someone help, please? Thank in advance.

In case anyone is wondering, after an exhaustive search of a working link for the service manual, I was able to confirm that the green/yellow wire is indeed the VTEC solenoid connection. The yellow/red is straight shot from the engine oil pressure switch to the light in the dashboard.

Re: VTEC wiring help [solved]

Just want to add... I went to the junkyard an found all the connectors and wires I needed. Even found a VTEC solenoid assembly (keeping as a spare). Hooked it all up and now no oil pressure light but I still had the P1259 code. I put my original VTEC solenoid assembly back on and now everything works like it should. Lesson learned. Get genuine Honda parts for stuff like this. The solenoid was something I picked up online, I think from eBay.
