My 2016 has been displaying this error for a couple of weeks now.

The car runs fine. Battery is 2 months old and checks out fine as does the alternator. I ran my OBD scanner and there are no codes. I checked the fuse box and nothing obvious.

Any ideas what this means or how to solve or just clear it?

I had it checked at a local shop they said it was fine, but I'll have it checked again. The battery is only 2 months old.

I just checked again. Car has been sitting out all night, battery tested at 12.47V and when turned on at 14.3V.

So does this mean the battery is not holding a full charge? it's around 48 degrees F here.

Those are normal numbers for car off, and then 14.whatever engine running

I noticed this over the weekend. Near the battery is a wire that looks like it was cut. Anyone know what this wire is for or where it should be reconnected?

To add to this, I found a rat nest under the hood of one our cars, so maybe one crawled into the hood and chewed this wire.

That would absolutely do it. That's for the battery sensor, load detector I believe.

I found this image online, that's it with the red circles. I just don't see the other part of the wire anywhere, not sure what to reconnect to. A friend of mine has a similar year Civic I am going to take a look under the hood and see if I can match it.

I'm not sure if it's a connector or what but it goes to that plastic piece underneath where the negative cable goes to the battery.

Thanks everyone for the help, problem fixed. I just had to splice the wires back together.

Now I just need to deal with the rat problem.
