Car alarm sounding and lights not flickering when locking - 2018 Honda Civic

Earlier today I changed my washer fluid then drove home from work. About 20 minutes after I get home, the car alarm randomly sounds. This is a fairly new Civic (96000km) and has never had an issue like this before. From that point on, I've noticed the turn signal lights do not flicker when I lock the vehicle. They will flicker when I unlock it, but not when I lock it. Are these two things potentially connected? I've read about the hood latch switch being the cause of this, but are there other possibilities? Should I take it into the dealer?

I would guess something with the hood latch, dealer for sure, especially if you still have warranty

No warranty left on the vehicle unfortunately. But was thinking this is an issue for the dealer anyway instead of just any mechanic. I could be wrong though.
