Source(s) of Oil Leak?

Mechanic said I would need to replace the valve cover gasket, which fair enough there is some leakage by a bolt or spark plug tube, but there is also a pool of oil under the cylinder plug, that drips all the way down to the transmission. Guessing I need to replace the plug as well? Also some leakage at the front of the engine near the exhaust manifold. Would that be solved by fixing the valve cover leak?

Re: Source(s) of Oil Leak?

valve cover is at the top, any leak there will follow gravity

if you want to know for sure, clean all the engine and drive, check where the oil is coming from

Re: Source(s) of Oil Leak?

Oil on top of the valve cover is almost certainly just from spilled oil when filling. If it were me I would just replace the valve cover gasket, the cylinder head plug cap at the end, and the VTEC solenoid (if applicable). They are all relatively cheap and could be the cause.
