Oil pressure sensor

Hi guys, new here.

I tried searching the forums through google about this but nothing seems to line up to the question i have.

I swapped in a D17A into a 2005 civic ex special edition. I pulled out a D17A1 from it but from quick reading, it looks like theres supposed to be an A2 in it. Anyways, I got the car running and driving but I simply fixed it up to sell it. Oil pressure light is on and I can see that the sensor that below the intake and next to the oil filter is not connected to anything. Same thing with the Vtec sensor.

Simple fix, just plug the sensors in, right? WRONG. Looking around the entire engine bay, I cannot find these freaking plugs!!!! Its like the harness thats in this car simply doesn't have them. Am I missing something? The only plug that isnt connected on the harness side is the EGR, which this D17A does not have.

What am I doing wrong?????

Re: Oil pressure sensor

it was supposed to have an A2.
if it had an A1, someone already had swapped an A1 in there.

now you swapping in an A.

possibly whoever did the first swap yanked the wiring out since the A1 does not need the VTEC, an while at it might have removed the oil press wiring too?

Do you know where the wire usually comes out at on the wiring harness? So that I have an idea where to look for, if it was cut off.

Re: Oil pressure sensor

I'm sort of guessing a bit here, but I recently did a head gasket job so I kind of remember...

The wiring harness that has connections to the VTEC solenoid, TPS, and MAP sensor shold be where to look. Follow the wiring harness from one side to the other (passenger side to driver's side starting near the VTEC solenoid) and it should be coming down somewhere in the middle of the intake I think.

I may be thinking of the knock sensor though.
