Unhappy Cracked ex. manifold, code p0441

Hello, I have a 2003 Civic LX sedan. My exhaust manifold has a crack down the front next to the O2 sensor. I did the soapy water test and the manifold is leaking. Recently my CEL came on while I was driving, I drove straight to O'Reilly's and scanned the code. It came up as P0441, incorrect purge flow. I made sure my gas cap was on tight, but the CEL remained on. The CEL did turn off the next time I drove my car, but I'm still worried about it. Does anyone know if the CEL has to do with the cracked manifold, or do I have another problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

It will be something to do with the evap system, not the exhaust manifold. Manifold can be welded or replaced. Ex doesn't have the cat in the manifold so they aren't too expensive.
are you in the rust belt?

I have the LX with the integrated cat. Unfortunately I do have to buy the manifold and cat even though I just need the manifold. Thanks for your reply

Re: Cracked ex. manifold, code p0441

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard welding doesn't work very well as the weld tends to crack again.

Re: Cracked ex. manifold, code p0441

cheap enough to weld and clear the questions about the engine trouble code.
or you can try to get a scrapyard header.
use car-part.com to check for nearby scrapyard parts

Sorry read your shortened exhaust manifold as EX trim

mine lasted over a year and then I wrote the car off, I did it myself so the cost was essentially zero

Did you have to take the manifold out of the car when you welded it? Also is it safe to drive immediately after?

Yep, made it very easy to weld, which helps make it a better weld. And yes it would be safe to drive afterwards

Re: Cracked ex. manifold, code p0441

Would I need to replace the gasket if I take off the manifold?

OEM is metal, as long as it's not damaged it can be reused
