Hi everyone. I would like to begin by thanking anyone who helps out with a problem i found on my valve cover. Car is 05 civic lx special edition. I found a hole in the v.cover groove that the gasket sits in. The hole only went through the the outside edge. I already applied jbweld to try and fix it. However I am puzzled as to what and why this happened. So any info on this weird hole and if i need to look for other for other issues is greatly appreciated. Thank you
I will try and get pictures up tomorrow of patch. The hole was very small maybe the size of a small pea.
Here are before and after pictures. The jbweld dripped a bit as valve cover sat on shelf to cure overnight. Im disappointed that it dripped but such as life. I'll clean it up and call it a day and hope for the best. I think i will put a little permatex ultra black in the gasket groove on the repaired area just to help insure that it seals at the repaired area. Is this advisable? Thank you!!
