Re: 05 valve cover

Powdercoating is easy. We made a little temp. booth/baking station at my friends house and powdercoated an old valve cover of mine. You would be very surprised what you can do with a simple powdercoating kit from like SEARS. Once you get your setup all you have to do is order in additional. powder for whatever application you need.

Re: 05 valve cover

Nope no pictures. It was just a MDF box with a screen filter in the back. We hooked up a generic box fan behind the filter to create a draft, this way any of the extra/overspray would adhere to the filter which could be replaced. Other than that there was just a hook attached through the top of the box strong enough to susspend pieces from. Other than that you just need the powdercoating kit and an oven large enough to house whatever piece you coat.

Re: 05 valve cover

Pick up an old oven from the landfill or a yardsale. Thats what most home DIY powder coaters do.

Re: 05 valve cover

I'll see if i can find you a price, but I am pretty sure he got his at SEARS. It looks like a rinky-dink setup, but there isn't much to powdercoating.

Re: 05 valve cover

Here's mine from my 03 EX. Was $130 shipped by Steve at racecoated.com. Good work, lots of color selections.
