04-05 Custom Grill Question

Hey Guys.

I found this on ebay. I was under the assumtion that the grill was one piece. However, this says lower grill part. Would I be able to purchase this mesh it and reinstall it. I see that it does not contain the upper part where the radiator cover is...will I be able to detach that from my existing grill to attach to this modified one? I was under the assumption it was all one piece.

Thanks in Advance.

no you have a lower grill where the fog lights are and then the upper grill which is between the headlights.

Re: 04-05 Custom Grill Question

on the 04-05 coupe, the grill molding, the u-shaped strip around the grill is one piece, then the grill itself, and the radiator cover are another piece. If you make a mesh grill, and attach it to the grill molding, you will have an open area over your radio. I read somewhere that can be fixed by getting a sedan radiator cover. apparently on sedans, the grill and radiator cover are two separate pieces. also, like gearbox said, the lower grill refers to the other opening in the bumper, at the bottom.

Sorry guys I forgot to include the link to the ebay auction of the piece I was referring to. Here it is.

I think my question has already been answered though. I was unsure what to do about the gap that would be left from not having the upper radiator part. I will look into the sedan piece in its place as you said.

Or I may just take the stock grill and cut out the plastic honeycomb on it....do a little ABS Repair and mesh that.

^ I considered doing that too. Just remember, you may want to go back to stock someday.

Re: 04-05 Custom Grill Question

I thought you were supposed to get better cooling with the cover in place, so the air goes through or over the radiator, rather than around it

yeah just cut out the honeycomb and put mesh in if you wanna do a custom job.. you should def. not leave it completely open though.. people have gotten their radiators messed up that way
