Sluggish acceleration when AC is on

The acceleration of my car is sluggish whenever I turn on the AC. It's like the engine is misfiring when I stepped on the gas pedal coming from a complete stop and it's like the car will stall. But when I'm not using the AC, it runs perfectly.

Newly replaced timing belt, air filter, spark plugs and fuel filter. I already clean the throttle body also.

What other things should I need to check/replace? Thank you.

Maybe your compressor is on its way out and creating excess drag?

Re: Sluggish acceleration when AC is on

AC circuit will alter the idle valve.

Free test would be to unplug the AC clutch and take for a test drive. If it still feels down in power with AC on but clutch unplugged it’s not a compressor issue.

Are bad ignition coils a possible cause?

Possible, but you would likely see a fault code.

Re: Sluggish acceleration when AC is on

Just an update on this guys.

I've checked the throttle body again and found out that it is dirty AGAIN! I've just cleaned it a month ago. Tried to clean it again and then boom! The car runs perfeclty again while AC is on.

My question now, why is my throttle body gets dirty quickly?

Re: Sluggish acceleration when AC is on

Global warming, quality of the air filter, cracks in the intake resonator?

Aged idle control valve might “jam” up easier than a new one.
