Oil Leak

Replaced the valve cover gasket but I’m still losing oil. Can anyone tell where the problem might be from these pics?

Re: Oil Leak

If no visible droplets of oil, then you arnt losing enough oil to notice, from leaking.

Probably burning oil.

-Check pcv valve
-try either 5w30 oil, or, 5w20 with Lucas HD

Re: Oil Leak

The camshaft end plug is a common oil leak and is located on the side of the head near the EGR valve. Red circle in attached is the location.

Also, minor detail but you are missing a bumper/grille clip near the hood latch and you could use a new ground strap (quite noticeable in your 3rd photo).

Re: Oil Leak

As stated prior most likely an end cap. Could also be valve cover too. Personally, I use rtv sealant as little as possible but I've found that applying rtv to the end cap o-ring tends to help compared to it not being applied when installing a new end-cap. I have even reused an end-cap with rtv applied and it sealed it completely... that was 15k miles ago. Just have to be careful and apply only a thin coat of black rtv or Hondabond on the end-cap o-ring and do not glob it on. The goal is to avoid any overage of rtv from getting into valves or camshaft.

Also, personally I prefer to replace the end-cap with the valve cover off to ensure the two tabs (legs) of the end cap don't break off during removal, or if they do I will be able to find them before starting the engine. It's a bit of work to remove all items theout of the way to eventually remove the valve cover but once the valve cover is removed it's a good time to replace the valve cover seal, check intake and exhaust valves clearances, replace spark plug hole o-gaskets.

Re: Oil Leak

Then clean the engine thoroughly, take it for a drive and then pop the hood and look for the source of the leak

That's it. A common oil leak source for these engines.
