oil splatter on valve cover

oil splatter on valve cover

any ideas why oil is covering the corning of my valve cover, i wipe it off and it returns. everything seems to be tight. Click image for larger version

your spark plug seal could be shot in that cylinder,

could be valve cover gasket,

or a leak in the timing area such as camshaft seal,

those are really the only possibilities in that area

Remove plastic cover, remove ignition coil, look for a source.

just to add to the previous comments, AFTER you find your oil leak and fix it. Check your PCV valve.. when they stick closed it allows pressure to build up in the crank case and you will start pushing oil out of your weakest seals

When I bought my car, it was missing the rubber o ring for the oil cap. The owner couldn't figure out where the oil was leaking from. Probably the fastest diagnosis and fix I have ever done ever!

could also be the seal around one of the valve cover bolts
