Can I swap 01 vtec cylinder head onto a 05 non vtec

Alright I have a question Maybe you all can answer for me I have a 2005 Honda Civic Which I'm changing the cylinder head in. I Got a used cylinder head from a junkyard that apparently will fit my car. Come To find out the cylinder head that I got from the junkyard has VVT solenoid ports in it and the original one that came off my car doesn't. Is there anything I need to do to make the cylinder head with the vvt solenoid ports work on my engine.

Well you're going to have to grab a VTEC solenoid, or make a block off plate + gasket to cover those holes. Otherwise you're going to have an oil leak.
Also an 01 civic doesn't have EGR, your 05 does, that's going to be problematic if you have emission testing where you live.
I would see if you can bring that head back to the junkyard and get one off of an 04/05

If I keep this head and put a blocking plate on it, is there anything else I need to do. And will it run normal or will I have issues

It will run, just the VTEC will never engage

They don't exist, that's why I said you would have to make it, or grab a solenoid from the junkyard and bolt it on
