Losing all my oil.
Losing all my oil.
2001 D17A1 I had rebuilt about 2 months ago and I noticed yesterday that it’s going thru a lot of oil. So I take it to the shop that I trust and he tells me one of the cylinders has a bad set of rings because there’s oil in combustion chamber and going out the exhaust. So has this happened to anyone and could it be head gasket, rings, or ???? Not sure where to start.
thanks in advance

Re: Losing all my oil.
It happens, happened to me when I rebuilt mine.
Reasons why
-rings weren't installed facing the right direction
-rings weren't clocked to Honda specific alignment
-rings rotated out of clocked alignment due to over deglazing of cylinders.
-cylinders weren't deglazed to set rings
