I have a 02 non vtec, I just built my own short ram intake with a feeder tube from the fender well to the filters cone, anyways I pushed the map sensor into the piping and sealed it shut, but i have a check engine light, is there something i could be missing, also, due to losing the stock manifold, that hole in the valve cover has nowhere to go, it blows its air just outside the engine and not into the air intake, could that cause it issue. And if so, how do I fix it.

If you changed the stock air box to a cold air, that has nothing to do with the manifold, or MAP sensor.
Are you talking about the intake temperature sensor?

-Changing to a short ram/cold air, will not give you a CEL.
-having the valve cover vent to atmosphere will not cause a CEL
-the air temp sensor may cause a CEL if damaged
