front crankshaft seal

has anybody replaced theirs before? any tips i have already ordered the honda timing belt kit with waterpump and i have a felco front main seal kit. anything you think i might need? any help would be great

Re: front crankshaft seal

the front side seal is integrated into the oil pump. You'd have to take apart a fair bit of the motor to deal with that. A new oil pump is $46 and comes with the seal... just do that.

Remove all the belt drives from the crank, remove downpipe, remove the oil pan, remove the oil pickup, remove the pump, remove and replace the seal, replace the oil pickup gasket and the galley o-ring, hondabond the pump back on, hondabond the pan back on, reinstall drive belts.... in simplified terms.
