Won’t idle after charging battery

2004 civic. Battery was completely dead. I put a 10 amp charger on it and forgot about it for 3 days. Now it starts and immediately dies. Giving it throttle doesn’t help, neither does holding the key in start position. Have I burned something out? If so, what could it be?

By using a code reader.

Take your battery somewhere like autozone and get it load tested. If it stayed dead and then got cold, it probably swelled which makes it useless.

Re: Won’t idle after charging battery

It seems fully charged. Starter turns engine fast
it starts immediately and then dies

Re: Won’t idle after charging battery

chargers nowadays have a function to maintain after the battery is charged, if yours is new, it should not cause issues with battery

Re: Won’t idle after charging battery

checked fuses? Did you change any engine sensors? Timing belt at right timing?
I would have expected to see some codes in this case too.

im going to have to get a code reader. It was running great when I parked it. It acts like it loses fire as quick as it starts. I’m going to try a new battery tomorrow. The old one went down overnight. I checked all the fuses under the hood. Is there one in the interior panel that could cause this?
