Rep Power: 0 2004 Civic Rough Idle?
I have a used '04 honda civic with about 127k miles on it. After changing the battery a few months ago, I started having this problem where occassionaly when I'm idling at a red light or in a drive through, my car briefly seems to restart.
All of the dials and electronics in the car turn off and then suddenly come back on. This all takes place in about a second. It happens so quickly I can't even say exactly what the engine is doing in this time. Would this be considered a rough idle?
I know I need to take it in, but I don't know if it's the battery, or maybe time for some new spark plugs. I'm not sure. I read the post about rough idling, but I was hoping I could narrow in on the problem a little more before I took it in. I got the car used with 75k miles and have never had any problems with it before.
Thank you so much in advance for your help. This forum is such an amazing resource for us civic owners.

I replaced the battery myself. I just unplugged the old one and replaced it with the new one and hooked it up. I didn't know there were other procedures to be done when replacing a battery.
EDIT: Just read the procedure for a relearn here: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/3...ml#post4004755
I'm gonna give that a go this evening and see if that solves it. Thanks so much!
