dome light causing noise?

I have been hesitant to ask, mainly because I didn't know how to phrase it without sounding like an idiot....
When I open the door - the dome light goes on. when i sit down I hear a light whining as the light dims through the speakers. Instinct says ground, but why would it make a whining sound through the speakers.....

Thoughts?

I wouldn't think there would be a connection, unless the ground wire to the car itself is funky.... Hmmmm Would that cause it?

I figured that. is it the same ground wire that connects to the radio to transmit it over the speakers? Honestly, it almost sounds like an old tube from a tv or amp cooling off. It's the weirdest thing. Either way, I will check the ground wire in the door. I assume its the button that tells the car the door is open or closed?
Thanks for the direction!

Ground is ground. However the negative from the speakers is supposed to go to the head unit, not to ground.

That's what has me perplexed. The light fades like its supposed to, but it makes a noise through the speakers as it is doing so. So the ground must be connected somewhere to the the radio some how..
Wait, I may have the answer. One of the rear speakers isn't work... What if in the back of the radio, the rear speaker is connected to the ground on the radio.....
I'll have to check that in the am!

What is the door switch for the interior lights? I know the tumbler turns them on when I use the key, and the button to show the door open turns them on. Sorry, still learning.

Re: dome light causing noise?

there should be a switch in the chassis side close to the door hinges.
Did not know the key would turn them on, that is for newer models, so there is a wire going from the door to the lights too, which could get damage after so many times the door is opened/closed. Check also the wires that go from door to the chassis around the hinges.
