03 civic windows

Just installed a a/m stereo. I installed it in the stock location using a wire adapter. Tapped into a constant and accessory power. Also tore down the doors to install new speakers and in doing so had to disconnect all the wiring to panel. After reassembly , my power windows Windows would not work. I checked the fuses that I believe go to those switches and they were dead on both ends. Pulled the fuses and they look good. Put a test light to the fuse box without the fuses installed to see if there is power going to them and there were not. So now I have no power to either door window controls or to the fuse box. Not sure what I did while I was in there. I know what I didn't do and that was try to play it like I'm Superman and didn't disconnect the battery while I was in there. Not sure if I shorted something out or forgot to connect something so I opened them all up again. The dash and the doors. Couldn't find anything visual that I did wrong. Where do I go from here guys and gals?

Let's start with the driver door. Check fuse 23 (20 amp) in the under-dash fuse box. You should have power to that fuse with ignition on.

Check the backup fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box. #9 (10A).
Also don't connect the illumination wire on an aftermarket head unit to the vehicle as it just creates problems.
Disconnect negative terminal from battery next time before installing head unit.

Re: 03 civic windows

Replaced both fuses under the dash for the windows. Didn't know about the back up fuse under the hood. Sure enough, it was blown. Replaced it and the windows work as designed. Thank you all. I've been driving in freezing temps for three days with the windows down. I'm actually looking forward to the commute in the morning.
I allways thought the "back up" fuse was for the reverse lights. Duh!!!! What other circuits does it protect?
