No power to stereo, please help!

i have a 1989-1991 Honda Accord Ex
i was recently installing a stock s2000 head unit into my car, because it had a broken led with the stock. when i was installing, i forgot to get the anti-theft from a friend which took maybe 30-60 mins trying to get. forgetting to remove the head unit, and coming back trying to turn it on agian. the power did not come. then trying to put the stock unit, no power again was happening, so i popped the hood, check the back up radio fuse, and it was a 7.5A burnt, i didnt have a 7.5 on me but i did have a 10A. assuming that would help popped in the unit again no power. so i borrowed a 7.5A fuse from a friend, and still no power to both the stock unit, and the new one. can anyone help. i went to best buy and another place called progressive, and it would cost 20$ per 15 min diagonstics, which could lead to huge waiting.. is there another fuse box i should be aware of, if so where, please again help. it sucks driving around without a radio, it kills! thanks in advance.

Not 100% positive but there should be a fuse box in the passenger cabin. I would check under the steering column and once you find the fuse panel, look for another blown fuse. It will possibly be labelled radio but most likely it will be a horn fuse, dash light fuse, something else altogether. If there are any lights that haven't been coming on, check for those fuses as well.

Another thing is if you modified the stock harness at all you may have pulled a wire loose or maybe cut a wire by accident. You're best bet is: check for fuses, get a fuse tester if you want, replace any and all bad fuses, check the radio again, test each of the important wires for power during the on position: backup, ACC, and ground. If all else fails check the fuses in the radio.

never, NEVER, replace a fuse with a larger one. fuses are sized to protect the wires. if you put a bigger fuse in, you'll draw more current than the wire can take. the wire heats up and possibly causes a fire.

did you check the "back up" fuse under the hood?

Double Post FTW, lol. But yeah that was the fuse he replaced with a larger one. Even if the backup fuse is blown, I have known plenty of stereo's that still work, they just don't store time, stations, and settings.
