Everything BUT the actual gauges and D light on cluster work!
Everything BUT the actual gauges and D light on cluster work!
Hi, so i recently purchased a 2001 Honda Civic Lx Coupe and I noticed that the gauge lights dont turn on when I turn on my light switch... my stock radio illuminates, my climate controls illuminate and my headlights turn on. The dimmer is all the way up! and yes it does work. Everything on my cluster works except the actual gauges themselves dont light up (RPM, Temperature, Speed, and Gas Level). Ive checked my fuses (but Im always up for double checking) they seem fine, both inside the cabin and under the hood. Is it the bulbs ? I will be installing an after market headunit shortly after I post this so please take that into consideration when trying to answer my question. Also my D is out. Im in need of help.
Re: Everything BUT the actual gauges and D light on cluster work!
Previous owner may have had an aftermarket audio unit and fried some circuits connecting the illumination wire. If you are installing an aftermarket radio don't connect the illumination wire.
You can check wire harnesses for poor connections and for faulty bulbs in the gauge assembly.
Check the #4 (10 A) fuse in the Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box and #2 (15 A) and #9 (10 A) in the Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box.
You can check wire harnesses for poor connections and for faulty bulbs in the gauge assembly.
