Headlight Clip Help!

So I'm replacing my headlight bulbs in my 2k1 Civic, and the driver's side replacement goes fine, the passenger replacement doesn't go so well.

I'd been in a fender-bender a while ago and my passenger side headlight isn't the same year as my driver's side. It must be a 2k2 or 2k3 headlight, or something. As I pull off the rubber thing, the clip just falls out so I have no idea how the clip goes back in.

I've done some searching, and maybe I'm not using the right terms, but I can't find any info on how it fits back into the headlight.

Does anyone here have a photo or a diagram of how the clip is supposed to sit inside the back of the headlight?

Thanks!

I believe that if it is a Honda headlight it should be the same for years 01 to 03. The clip should be reinstalled similar to your driver's side light, might be backwards or mirrored.

Then the new headlight must be an 04, cause the retaining clip looks a lot different than the headlight that came with my car.

But I got a diagram from a friend, and my new bulbs are installed

^if you had an 04 headlight on an 01, you'd know it. it's probably not an oem light.

04/05 headlights won't fit on 01. Glad you figured it out.

Probably not as the last post from this person was 13 years ago...

Does the first minute and a half of this video help?
