Are These Costs Typical for a 2017 Service?

My daughter has a 2017 Civic, and at her recent oil change the service advisor told her that next visit she needs the following;

Cabin Air Filter. 133.00

Brake fluid and Condition Check 150.10

Transmission fluid and Condition Check 168

This just sounds crazy high to me, Just wondered what others think of these numbers?

Thanks much
Tom

Pricing varies by area so depending on where you are that could be standard cost.

but $150 for a check!?! Inspection should be included. Cabin air filters are easy but I have seen them cost around $100 for the dealer to do it.

A little high, but normalish for a dealer.
you can pick up a cabin filter at an auto parts store for under $30 and change it yourself

Thanks, yeah just ordered one for 16.00 off Amazon after watching a simple YouTube video showing how to do it, which included a link to the filter!

Hi Tom,

I have a 2017 Honda Civic 4-Door Sedan. In August 2021, Klein Honda in Everett, WA replaced the brake fluid for $136.18 and replaced the transmission fluid for $131.18. Note that these charges are to REPLACE the fluids, not just check their condition.

A cabin air filter costs about $10 on Amazon and is easy to replace. You should be able to find a Youtube video about how to do this without much trouble.

As mentioned and acted upon previously. We do appreciate the input nonetheless.

Hi FRSam,

Sorry for the inconvenience. The reply you're referring to was my first one to this forum.

The attachment labeled "Before Registration" was what I saw before clicking "Reply" and starting the registration process - no replies to the original post I was replying to were visible and were not visible until after I finished registering and replying.

The attachment labeled "After Registration" is what I now see - the original post followed by the replies.

I thought I would mention this in case you are monitoring this forum and would like to know why new users might not be aware of previous replies.

Thank you.
