So I had to get my ac system replaced by my local mechanic. He mentioned he took parts from another vehicle(don’t think it was a civic, but some other vehicle. he didn’t specify which one all he mentioned was the car he’s taking the parts from had 7k miles and that this car was in an accident and the owner sold him the car for parts)

anyways the ac functions great now but I noticed the other day on a road trip that when I go over a certain speed in this case around 85 mph the fans slow down, and when I drop to a certain speed (65 mph) they function at normal speed again.

im not sure if this is an issue or if it’s by design by Honda because my theory is that the faster the car is traveling the more power is being routed to the engine causing some other components to temporarily slow down.

is this what’s happening or do I need to take the car back to the mechanic?

My 2016 EX-T started doing that about a year ago. Just last week, I received notice in the mail that my Civic has an extended warranty (to 10 years) for the compressor seal. Brought it in today for an oil change and visual inspection of A/C system. At first they said nothing showed in the inspection, then I authorized about $190 for a complete change of the Freon. Then they called back and said that the compressor seal needed to be changed, under warranty. Not sure if they played me to get me to pay $190 of the warranty repair cost. Will ask when I pick it up.
