Bumper gap

Here’s a shot of my 2018 Sport. I have no idea how this gap came to be, but’s it’s driving me bonkers.
short of going to a body shop any suggestions on how I could fix this?
thank you.

Re: Bumper gap

Try taking it off and putting it back on, there's some "slop" in all the mounting holes, you might be able to even out the gap.

Re: Bumper gap

Oh come on. 90 views and only one response that suggested removing the entire bumper. Someone out there has got to have a simple suggestion.
thanks

Re: Bumper gap

Taking off the bumper is what I'd do. Or at least that one side. It's really easy to do. 2 screws in the fenderwell and pull to release the plastic molded clips. Maybe 2 of the bolts that are accessible when you open the hatch for that side. At that point, you can reinstall that side and see if it'll align properly.

Removing the entire bumper is like.. 6 plastic pop rivets on the bottom of the bumper, 4 screws (2 per fenderwell) and 4 bolts that are accessible when you open the hatch. After that, just molded plastic clips that hold the bumper to the fender/quarter panel. Pop off the bumper and you can get a better visual inspection of what could be causing any misalignment. Otherwise, like sdaidoji said, take it in for some warranty work

edit: legit, taking off the bumper is super easy. Did a rear lip swap on my '18 sport hatch and it took me 45 minutes. Would've taken me 30 if I didn't spend extra time cleaning the inside of the bumper prior to installation of the lip.

Re: Bumper gap

Dealer or diy bumper off is best, but if you want to be lazy you can pull the tall lamps and try to bolt/screw it together.
