Miriad of warnings out of nowhere on 2016 Civic
Hello
I just finished replacing the transmission fluid and engine oil and air filters on my mom's 2016 Civic. It all went well, but after I lowered the car and started it: I got a chirstmas show of warning lights, all new. Before the service only the maintenance minder warning was on.
I may have missed some, but at least I get these:
* Brake System Problem
* Brake Hold System Problem
* Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem
* Hill Start Assist Problem
* And a power steering problem
The brakes work, including the parking brake. Power steering also works fine. Brake hold will not turn on.
Reading a couple of other posts in this forum I wonder if I damaged some wiring? The only place I can think that I did that was weird was that I had to pull the air intace box out to get to the transmission filler plug. I disconnected the oxygen sensor wire to do that, but haven't noticed any other wires there (I wasn't looking for any).
I have a J2534 Mini-VCI I used for a Toyota, but I'm having a very hard time finding any information on how to connect a computer to a Civic. Is this something that's only available to dealers and "certified" mechanics?
Is there any chance I can troubleshoot this by myself? Should I take it to a Honda dealer? Would a small garage have the tools to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance.

all of those would happen when battery is getting old and weak or alternator issues
try connecting a charger to the battery first
honda you use normal code scanner- OBDII port

make sure all electrical connections you had to disconnect are snug. Double check your battery terminals. Doesn't hurt to disconnect the negative terminal, wait a bit, then reconnect and make sure it's on securely.. Drive around for 15-30 minutes, see if they clear.
Had the same thing happen when I installed an HID relay, did my tranny fluid change, retrofitted new head unit. Disconnected battery, waited 10 or so seconds, reconnected, then drove around for a bit and all was well..

Thanks guys, I'm sure the battery is it!
I freaked out a little bit, wondering what I destroyed when I was tired
You would think with all these computers and sensors and "smart"s they would check a simple thing like battery voltage and have a clear warning for it. But whatever.

Trust me, it's a trip when it happens. When it first happened to me, I had freshly installed my HID kit and it didn't give me a christmas light display until 15-20 minutes of driving. Half freaked out because brake hold wouldn't work anymore. Went to the dealership kinda freaked out (since I was close by) and they wanted to charge me $150 to diagnose it. Promptly said "screw that," disconnected my battery in the dealership parking lot, waited a half second, then drove around. Learned to not freak out over lights after that. lol
