Binding / Rubbing Noise on initial move off
Binding / Rubbing Noise on initial move off
Hi,
I have a 2015 Civic Tourer SR with 108k miles on the clock. I bought it with less than 1000 miles when it was 3 months old and has been pretty reliable up to now. I am getting a binding / rubbing sound which can be quite loud when I initially move off but it does not happen every time. It first started when moving forwards but recently it happens most often when reversing! The sound is quite loud and can be heard outside the car. I can also feel a vibration through the handbrake but the noise can happen regardless of whether or not the handbrake has been used.
I have to be moving very slowly for the noise to happen e.g. reversing into my drive and as soon as I have any speed it stops. Other than this the car drives normally and none of the wheels get hot to indicate binding brakes.
Hoping for some ideas please
It was the rear brakes that was causing the problem. Thanks👍

Re: Binding / Rubbing Noise on initial move off
Probably something to do with the rear brakes. Take it to a shop if you're not comfortable taking things apart
