so i need lights for my soon to be cleared headlights. i did a search and got a mix of info saying i need 7443 bulbs but alot said 7440 too. anybody know what the difference is? i found a couple places with 7440 but none with 7443. also is there such a thing as a clear bulb that produces an amber light....? thanx
7443 bulbs will remain on while yer h4's are on too, theyre dual filament bulbs. the 7440's will remain off while you're driving and will turn on only when you signal. imo if you get really blueish or nice h4's get 7440's so all the attention is on your h4's and not the ugly small bulbs. there are clear bulbs(chromy looking) that will produce orange light.
just goto pacmall for those.

a 7440 is single filament. our cars use 7443 dual filament for the indicators. you can find clear 7443's at canadian tire but if you're looking for amber 7443's, you'll probably have to order them online.

i think he means which one is "Parking brake disengaged = it'll be on.
Just like your headlights". So final word is which one.
A) 7440
B) 7443
also what about the colour is white alright...or a ticket in progress

get 7443
7440 is illegal in the front....u need ur parking lights on when driving at night...
clear is legal...but IMO its kinda ugly....get orange or superwhite....
but orange is more visible than superwhite during the day...

white is ok.......but not clear???????????????
what colour bulb produces white then if clear is a no-no???????? i don't really want to be able to see any colour in my headlight during the day so i dont want amber. i am confused... i need to lay down i think.
can i just leave in my stockers? they are clear but produce white light?

You have to see the bulb on during the day because of DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. When DRL is engaged, The Headlights and Front Turn Signals are powered. If you don't want this than pull out the DRL fuse. I don't think it is illegal, its just like saying its illegal to remove DRL from Canadian vehicles.

no. the turn signal light doesn't stay on with the DRL.
clear is the stock bulb
white (super white is the blue bulbs) occassionally you do get tickets though...because its very subjective with cops...
if u don't want to see colour then just keep ur bulbs stock.

I need to buy some amber 7443..
I have to special order from Canadian Tire, but I don't feel like waiting nor paying the extra special delivery fees.
I don't feel like going to Pac Mall right now either..
Hi-Tech has them for about $26 for a pair... it's kind of a lot for lousy bulbs.. anybody gottem for cheaper?

Why not Canadian Tire locally? I'm sure they have one.
So why are the front Dual Filaments and the rear Single Filament and that the rear only comes on with the Parking / Headlights.

Re: 7440 or 7443
Whoa that's expensive at Crap Tire. I'm in Ottawa and got a few 7443 ambers from place called First Call at about 3$ each. They ship too it seems.
