7440 to fit into 7443
my 7440 turn light bulb fits into the socket, but its loose.. and sometimes when i take a turn or hit a bump, it knocks the bulb(s) too loose and i have to push them in again.. is there a way so that the 7440 bulb will fit into the 7443 socket securly?

lol well i read somewhere that you can take a x-acto knife and take out a pin thats not letting the 7440 bulb to go in.. but i have no clue wat pin the person was talkin about
go to the junkyard... look for a old honda that uses 7440 bulb... or something similar.. and cut it!.. bring it home and hook it up to your car... save your OEM socket... insulate the extra wire... then you are done! what is the differance between 7440 and 7443? i think it is one is dual filliment.. and one is single.. you can always disconnect the extra wire from your socket.. therefor it wont turn on... and it should work as well as a single filliment.
all you need is a light tester... to test the wire and a small screw driver to unhook that wire from the socket.. tape it up! and you are done. once you want to go back to stock.. you can plug it back into the socket... you can also go another route and cut the wire.. but why????????????

the two middle pins on the bulb itself are for the filament that turns on when your parking lights are on...if you want to disable these...slap some electrical tape over them...at least i think its the middle two...try it out...couldnt hurt anything...
It shouldnt be that the 7440 is too loose. Normally they wont fit into the 7443 because it's too tight. That's why you have to cut out part of the 7443 socket to get the 7440 to fit. I'm guessing when you did this, maybe you cut out too much and now it's loose. Is this true? If so, I'm not really sure how to make it snug again unless you put something in the socket to take up space and hold the bulb in place.
You shouldnt have to cut any wires off the bulb itself. If it becomes too much of a problem, I'd say either goto a dealership or to a junkyard and get the sockets off a 7thgen Sedan Reverse lights or rear turn signals. Those are both 7440. Then install them where the front 7443 sockets are like previously stated.
