cold air is denser than hot air, carries oxygen better... helps improve response quicker (low/mid)than a short ram (high). it is quite noisy, and has a very slight impact on gas mileage. any open/exposed filter is illegal. and it is a case of one or the other. it increases hp and torque slightly, better if you don't look at the actual numbers though (they're all quite low for 7th gens).
what sort of sound difference are we talking about here? just louder? or same volume but deeper?
conflicting stories on the legality *confused*

it's legal as long as you have a filter on the end of the pipe....
ya, any gain on our motors is worth it
and it makes a 'wooom woooom' sound from the front of the car.....its the sound of air being sucked in....
if you can imagine it......

if u have an AT. the SRI is more responsive than the CAI.
This is because the CAI has to many bends (more distance for the air to travel).
however you do get better mileage with the CAI.
depends wut u want.

SIrokai do you have an SiR?...if so get the AEM CAI, you will LOVE how it makes your car sound when you hit V-Tec...trust me, if you get it you'll thank me later...
check www.contemporarymotorsport.com for a price on the intake...
