Anyone see me off the side of the 401 Westbound?

I had my hazards on, blown tire right around 8:30 as I merged onto the express. The car started to pull left something FIERCE, then a grinding noise and the steering wheel started fighting left. I pulled over on the shoulder, hazards on. Idiot that I was, this was the ONE day I didn't have my tools, lock keys, or spare on me, in fact I was on the way home to get them before going to azn_outlaw's house to change my oil. The inside sidewall ripped right off the bead somehow, some have told me it could have been a bubble, which makes a little sense cause even with hubcentrics the car was a little shaky at 140, but I figured I was going to leave it till the end of the season then have it taken care of during the winter. Anyway, here's a couple of pics:

Look how the tire just ripped right off, the sidewall was fully ripped off the tire all the way around! I have no clear idea how this happened.

This is what fell off the tire in azn_outlaw's trunk. Much thanks to Tim, he took two hours out of his night to hunt me down on the 401 so he could bring me tools and stuff from my condo in Mississauga...I owe ya bud. HUGE.

These are Yokohama Parada Spec 2's btw. I had ensured they were inflated (But still below the max listed on the tire) not two weeks ago.

From the last pic, it looks like the freakin tire just DISINTEGRATED, cause there were all these little rubber chunks all over my buddy's trunk.

On a related note, my ABS light came on while driving to work today. I surmise it has something to do with the fact that my temp front wheels' overall diameter is smaller than the rears....well, I turned off the car at the first stop lights I got to, and restarted right away, no light since then. It'll probably come on during the drive home though. Has anyone heard of such a thing?

Just looked it up on this site, looks like it was the wheel speed sensors, which of course would make sense. Well, let's hope 2 days of driving around like this don't PERMANENTLY fuqq them up. Stupid car.

Thats weird. Was your tire over inflated? or your positive that you were at correct p.s.i. levels. Looks like those tires have seen years of weathering, or a chemical ate away at the sidewall. How was the tread-life looking?

I was looking at the rim again just now, it looks like it just crumbled. Could be the cam phone pic quality but the tires still look pretty new everywhere but where it crumbled (no other way to describe it). You can hide a pencil eraser in the treads, even on the inside where camber should have killed more of the tire. When I take 'er to Tires23 they'll take a look to make sure the rim is still round and maybe then I'll find out what happened to this particular tire. My other 3 are still looking great, no sign of wear that could cause this kind of catastrophe.

Andy, I don't have warranty on the rubber, these are what came with the rims I bought from APRBoy, and again, they looked and felt new when I put them on, I'm very meticulous about my baby's shoes, I thoroughly examined them when I bought them. However, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that perhaps the slight shaking/vibration I got while driving, even with recent alignment and hubcentrics could have been a sign of something going wrong with the tire even a week in advance. I was thinking I was just due for an alignment, but then after the fact, when I was driving home on 3 Rotas and a steel rim on the front driver's side, the vibrations were lessened considerably. I figure something went horribly wrong with this tire at some point but it took time to happen. This can't have been a sudden blowout. I'll post up when I find out what Tires23 says on Thursday.

My Michelin Pilot tire did the same sort of thing. There was basically rubber powder all over the place.
