Question Kit for Winter!

I have a 1.8" drop all around, and am looking into a body kit this summer. My greatest concern is the fact that I have to drive my car in the winter, so i will be somewhat limited. the front bumper will come off for sure, and the back lip should be fine. Any suggestions as to what sideskirts to go for or stay away from, considering i will be a daily driver. Are the WWG5 skirts too low? any thoughts would help.. thanks

1.8" drop with the WW kit will be fine in winter, just watch the curbs and iced-over snowbanks. Stay away from fiberglass side skirts, one tap in the winter (when the skirt and paint are most brittle) and you're guaranteed a visit to your bodyshop the following spring.

I have the kaminari skirt package and I drove with it in the winter for 2 years. But the paint gets killed on the front lip and the side skirts. This year I only left my rear lip on for the winter. I think any sides would be good in the winter if no part of them sticks out. My kaminari sides have a part that sticks out which gets killed by salt and sand.

I'd recommend you just take off your kit when winter rolls around. It'll save you money on paint.

thanks guys.. ur posts really helped... but one thing im confused about... i thought that since the 3M adhesive is so strong, it rips the paint offf. Ive heard that you CANT take off the sides? how would i go about taking them off if they are glued?

The 3m adhesive that I used isnt strong enough to ruin the paint. It took a while to get it all off the car after I took the sides off but the work I did in October pays huge dividends now. I am so happy i took the sides off

And if they are glued on I guess you cant really take them off then. But I think most people get a combination of screws and 3M tape.

to re-apply the tape i just have to fully remove the tape from last year and put this years tape in the same place.

And I would definately recommend some screws at least in the fenders to hold the skirts on. My kit has screws in the fenders and all along the bottom. I would imagine that the side skirts will come predrilled with holes for screws.

ANd yes I do remember you. You wouldnt bring your car for me to see. haha

You probably can if you have a really good fitting side skirt, but I still like to have a little tape in my sides just to make sure the skirt sticks to the body.
