You can try calling FCP for pricin, they'd probably be the best around here. Or, mount some rubber that you are going to toss into the garbage onto the rims; drive to the US and install the rubber that you had shipped/bought somewhere there, drive back (leaving the garbage tires behind)
Sanding the rims down will more than likely hold a better grip for the paint. It would be less chance of flaking, as well as a probably more uniform paint across the whole wheel. Will probably look better overall, but as you said, a lot of work.

what do you think of:
Federal
Khumo
InsaTurbo
Marschall
Nankang
etc.
All these less renown brand that are often offered in Wheel+tires package.
Yes sir? stay away? maybe?
They cost less... do they worth less also???

look like what I told you for the suspension!!! I saw a lot of good comment on the Falken Ziex-512.. what do you think?
Look like a good overall tire (performance wise), that you can get at the price of a cheap motomaster!

Thats $55.21 for 4 new tires what ever you choose....
I woke up this morning with a real urge to buy new wheels. I thought I'd give Redviking a great deal for my 17's but he's going the oem way.
Take note, 1 is slightly bent, can be repaired for less than 100$ at P.Jacques, I will accept offers in the 500+.

If you want the filter, we can manage something... it's a 1 week old brand new AEM filter. The opening is 3", I paid 65$ for it! I used it 1 week, than I changed for the V2 intake, but the V2 need a 3.5" filter...
If you want it let me know... if the INjen filter is still usable, don't trash it, I will take it, to sell with the generic intake I am trying to sell...

I am still debating with myself on which size of tire to get in 15" (that will in fact, influence the brand after....)
195/60/15 = perfect match, but will look stock in my opinion
I don't feel it... I was looking for 205 in my head!
205/60/15 = 1.95% too slow... that mean less mileage on the cluster, but will theoratically affect accelaration (bigger wheel = less accelaration due to inertia...but will I see the difference???). Seems to be cheaper price-wise...
205/55/15 = 1.30% too fast... more mileage, but better accelaration. Better looking, but expensive!
215/55/15 = Can be too big on a 15x6" wheel... but some say that it fit.
0.32% too slow, I can live with that... Afraid that it will look like a balloon on my wheel since it will be squeezed
What's your opinion? I guess the war is between the 205/55 and 205/60... knowing me the less expensive one will win
let's see what I can find in these sizes.

After some research, I think I will go with your suggestion: the Yokohama Avid H4S in 205/60/15... Their UQTG rating 500/AA/A is unbeatable for this price range!
If they are too expensive for my wallet, I think I'll go with Falken Ziex-512 instead, but prefer the H4S.
I have until the end of the winter to find a good deal, so there is no rush!

For remindind me again of a sale that I could have taken advantage of
But in any event, I'm not disappointed in what I picked up anyways - for roughly the same cost (think like 5$ more).. so whatever.
Perhaps I could try to find out what size tires Polo was sporting and give you that image to see.. but honestly, I feel lazy today

I had them slotted and black-plated - though very much doubt that plating is lasting but whatever.
I'd still say Brembo > KVR, but yeah - rotor is basically a rotor
160$ CAD for the KVRs from what I can remember......

I read somewhere that the conversion don't improove braking that much. And since we have DX/LX we don't have the ABS system to go with it, that make a huge difference (apparently)...
So, it's mostly for look.
Like Karumba set-up, with good rotors (even OEM rotors), and appropriate pads you are in business! But to choose the right pads is the question! There is so many types, for different applications... Hawk HPS, HP+, PBR ceramic, semi-metal, metal, etc... they all have + and -.
what are you using Karim?
I plan to upgrade my pads, only when the OEM ones will be dead!
How many KM should I expect to do with my orginal one? I am at 44 000km, and still no sign that they are dying!

I played with photoshop and my great talent...
... look what I want to do to my car (at least try to do!!!).
Should look like this this summer! Need to paint the wheel and find a TypeR lips...
What do you think? (like it or not, this is what I want!!!!)

I may remove my front grill like Jamie_civic, if I can find a way to do it nicely!

Who says DX/LX doesn't have ABS? Oh wait, I'm a LX-G
I have ABS, and appreciate it doing the work for my lazy self
Believe I'm using Raybestos ceramic pads .. probably could go better with these pads, but I still have lifetime on them. The way I drive, I tend to destroy pads fast so I stuck with that warranty
