WOW I couldnt believe how many cars were getting randomly waved down. COPS were everywear! I understand making a presence so that no one screws around on the roads, but busting peoples ***** and giving them tickets for minor things doesnt earn them respect.

Which is half the reason I didn't compete or visit this year. Last year was way too much for me, and the law lost a lot of my respect for their shenanigans. Hope everyone made it home unscathed.

I never got stopped thankfully. Even on Sunday I drove Nitehawk to the rental place to drop off his car so he could return his rental which was on the fair grounds. So I passed 'em three times and only got stares...haha. Bastards!

I think only one of us got pulled over but not fined....am I right?

i heard MTO were doing exhaust test on the side of the road and pulling plates from vehicles that failed the test....

thank God i didn't go through that....i would've lost my plates for sure

ok this happens every year, someone really has to do something to stop this bullshit.

This is a car, show, were people take there cars that they have spent tons of money on, to make a show boosts torontos tourism and entertainment industry. the whole point of the show is showing far the difrent part u have on your car, and then cops start giving out tickets, making people not want to come back, nor afford to buy more stuff that would help our small buisnesses and garages around the country.

its just not right and someone has to put a stop to it

I went up with my buddy to the show in his beater Oldsmobile to avoid the hassles and also having to park in that sorry excuse for a parking lot. Obviously the cops never even gave his car a second look as we passed the spot-checks, although ironically his car would have probably failed miserably since it has an exhaust leak and burns alot of oil.

I still can't understand why these various "anti-street racing" programs like PACER and ERASE tell you to take it to the track or shows instead of the streets, but then when you do attend these events they still harass you there. So basically they are punishing you for following what they told you to do.

some guys used Transport permits on their rides to travel.

I saw that hatch with the clear hood on the way home at a highway Tim Hortons...he was still using it on the way home to Montreal. I don't think they can fine you for s.hit if you have that on your car.

Well my trip ened up costing me a few hundred. Paid my 20 looked around the show left at like 5 got pulled over. 2 minutes down the road. Got emisson tested or w/e they did passed. Than got a ticket for having a TV in my car, my exhaust sticking out over an inch, not having my insurance card on me. and my passenger got one for no seatbelt. Than 10 minutes down the road got pulled over again. Went and got tested again after i tried explaining to them that i already got tested. And showed them my tickets. Also told them that this is BS like really go crack down on some murders, drunk drivers, like if the person is flyin out of darknights pull them over but everyone that i saw gettin pulled over was driving fine. I guess i got it good too, a few of my friends got 5-6 tickets.

PS anyone know what the candy apple red widebody crx took? I haven't talked to him yet hes still up in Barrie but wut i was told he was in the crx del sol class

Really again he got pulled over saturday night, and they wanted to flatbed his car. Well at least he took first Ill talk to him tonight and see what kinda tickets he got.

Hence why I will never again go too Darknights...

Telly and I rolled out plus another friend of ours...mind you this was on a Saturday..

Telly's much more modfied than my 1.6 EL, we see a cop up ahead and I relaize that is the inspection checkpoint, Telly got through the inspection line checkpoint just fine, I thought too myself, him he got through, cool, then I will...nope that wasnt the case, After seeing Telly 1.7 pass, cop gets in out and signals too pull over....

and thats when I found myself in the inspection line up, and they searched everything, the couldnt find nothing, but the kicker of it all...since the couldnt find nothing, instead they foudn my bulbs were clear in my rear tails....they were about to give a $120 fine for it but I was later let go, because the officer could not find a person to write me a ticket...

I knew this was going to happen again....and I knew even more that everyone says that the cops are good this year and this type of stuff wont happen...what do I find these stories and yet again it continues..

there goes my views of how police are responsible and intelligent folk...thanks to Darknights that has all changed and makes me wonder my tax dollars go? toward stupid **** like this...ummm yeah...good job....

Yea because it could distract me because it is in my view. I tried to explain to him it will not play movies unless it is in park with the e-brake on. Thanhe askes why is the screen up, and i told him to control my system and that it is a background in the end still got a ticket.

I heard something really funny on 680 news this evening while driving home from work. They mentioned the "anti-street racing" blitz this past weekend at the Darknights car show and how they issued over 200 tickets. 2 things I found humourous and interesting, (1) how much street racing do you think was happening at the car show? and (2) how come they never report on how many of the tickets issued actually end up netting convictions (I know a very large amount of the ones issued last year were thrown out of court).

Seems like the police are using the "one-sided media" to their advantage again.

As long as no racing and other illegal stuff goes on, they shouldn't crack down on a "car show". People are just showing off their rides, no harm there. It's a friggin' show -- as in "viewing" modded cars. *sigh* What can you do?
