Question Turn the steering wheel!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it is about cars.. so I'll just post it here.

Right now I'm working on a project that requires me to be able to turn the steering wheel of a car while it's STATIONARY. Now I know this sounds kinda stupid, but trust me, it makes sense to for my project. So I am trying to overcome the grip that the tire has on the ground..

Does anybody have any ideas how I can turn the steering wheel without disconnecting the steering control with the tires? I was thinking of building a rotating plate to put underneath the tires, but not sure if those plates can withstand the weight of the car..

TIA!

It needs to be on the ground, since I might be installing hydraulics on the car later. :P So I cannot jack up the car..

I am building a electronic controller that uses the actual steering controls in the car to control a video game.. basically, playing Initial D in an actual car. So I need to be able to turn the steering wheels while the car is stationary.

Are you sure you want to do that... when I play Initial D 2 on the last course, I bang the steering wheel all the way to the left or right, and if you do this to the car, it can cause serious damage. Also the plates, it would be scraping the floor a lot, too bad they don't make those two part rotational plates for cars.

So my design group decided to build our own rotational plates for the two front wheels. When I get a chance I'll take some pictures and post them. Each of those plates can withstand 1000lbs. weight.. now the steering wheel is turning pretty sweet.

I'll keep you guys updated on this project though
